Upper Hunter Waterkeeper

Members of the Upper Hunter Waterkeepers Alliance (UHWA) are farmers, residents and others in the Upper Hunter region northwest of Sydney and are led by Upper Hunter Waterkeeper Ms Patrice Newell, a bio-dynamic farmer and Author from Gundy.

UHWA is a community response to two big issues. Firstly, the ongoing drought situation is focusing negative attention on aspects of water use in the Region. In an effort to provide people with a positive approach to water issues, a project involving the local arts community is under way to ensure water is also being celebrated. Write to us for information.

Secondly, there is a recognised need to respond to the community’s thirst for improved knowledge, information and skills for better management of water resources. Contact us to find out more and please look out for our activities and become involved.
