WaterLinks
WaterLinks is a new knowledge exchange program designed to facilitate communication and learning between community-based environment advocates and a range of technical experts.
The program, a joint initiative of not-for-profit groups Environment Victoria and Waterkeepers Australia, aims to build community capacity to effect positive change for the benefit of our nation’s great rivers, creeks, lakes, wetlands and bays.
WaterLinks lets water-focused people contact a panel of experts in fields including Engineering, Law, Media, Conservation Biology, Ecology, and Water Management for free advice and assistance.
So how does it work?
- You can access WaterLinks by contacting the network manager at either Environment Victoria or Waterkeepers Australia by phone or email.
- Give an outline of your issue, problem or query, including your address and contact details and, if possible what type of advice or help you are after.
- The network manager will pass on your request to the panel of experts.
- If a panel member can assist, the network manager will arrange for him/her to contact you directly.
- WaterLinks aims to have issued advice or assistance within two weeks of the initial enquiry.
- At the conclusion of the advice or assistance we will ask you to complete a brief feedback form, and will compile the advice as a database for future enquirers.
